Music
For 15 years now, I have been professionally creating a portfolio for classical musicians and labels such as Melodiya, AD Vitam, Mirar, Aparte. My works are used by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic of Paris, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Moscow Conservatory and many others.
My work is timeless, elegant portraiture with a dramatic edge. I explore the contrast between a subject’s inner strength and candid vulnerability. Through classic studio minimalism, I make personality, light, and texture the true protagonists.
F.A.Q.
How long will a session typically last?
A session will typically last around 2 hours. It is the time I find most people will tire out. However, since I only do one session a day, we can go on as long as it takes.
What should I wear to the session?
Usually, concert outfits look perfect on camera! If you’re not a musician, think of what you’d wear to a nice restaurant or on a date. Please note that due to the way light reflects, it’s best to avoid wearing polyester or synthetic fabrics. Also, avoid clothing with bright patterns and logos. Natural materials like wool, cotton, and silk are always a good choice. My personal favorites are a classic monochrome suit, a tailcoat, and a tuxedo. The ideal dress codes are Black Tie, White Tie, and Cocktail.
Do I need makeup?
This is really a personal choice and it all depends on what you are used to. Just like wearing glasses: some people are more used to looking at themselves with glasses, so are some people with makeups on.
In what format will my images be delivered?
Your images will be provided in JPEG sRGB format with 8-bit color depth and maximum quality. The typical file size is suitable for A4 printing. This is more than sufficient for any potential purpose. On average, you will receive 20-30 shots. Please note that I do not provide discarded or unprocessed footage, including the RAW files (source files) of the retouched photographs.
After the photoshoot, within 14 working days from the day after the shoot, you will receive a link to a cloud storage service with your photos. The materials will be stored in the cloud for 1 month.
May I use the photo (s) for publications?
Of course, you have the right to publish photos from our photoshoot in any publications, provided my name is credited and the works are not altered. I would also like to ask for your permission to publish your photos in my portfolio, on social media, and on my website.
Are you a registered business?
Yes, absolutely. A receipt will be provided upon payment. This is a standard and crucial practice to ensure transparency, formalize our agreement, and protect your interests as a client.
Can you come to my home or office to take photos?
I only do studio portraits so the session has to happen in my studio
Can I bring someone to the shoot?
I work best when completely undisturbed. So I kindly request that only the person (s) involved in the shoot be present.
